Utah Boys State
A Week That Can Change Your Life!
One Week. A Lifetime of Leadership – Start Here
Each element of Utah Boys State is designed not just to simulate interest in government—but to shape character, confidence, and clarity of purpose. Here’s how we fuel personal growth:
Civic Simulation
teaches responsibility. Delegates experience the weight of decision-making and learn that their actions have consequences—a powerful foundation for becoming engaged citizens.
Leadership Development
instills self-assurance. Whether they win or lose elections, students discover their voice, face challenges head-on, and build resilience.
Political Party Engagement
sharpens collaboration and empathy. Creating platforms and navigating ideological differences fosters understanding and strategic compromise.
Judicial and Legislative Practice
builds analytical thinking. Wrestling with real-world issues, writing bills, and debating laws hone logic and reasoning.
Mentorship and Networking
create lifelong connections and inspiration. Young men are mentored by veterans and public servants, often lighting a spark for service and leadership careers.
Academic Credit and Recognition
show students that civic engagement has tangible value. It affirms their efforts and can open doors to scholarships, universities, and even national-level opportunities like Boys Nation and internships.
In short: Boys State doesn’t just teach how government works—it shows young leaders why their voice matters and how to use it responsibly.

Comments and Testimonials
I attended Boys State and had a fantastic time! I wanted to thank you for all you have done to make this such an amazing program. I didn’t know what to expect going to Boys State but I had a fantastic time and learned so much! I made friendships and grew as a person. I definitely learned more from that one week than from a whole semester long government class. I really appreciate all the time and dedication put into this program.
