Today, McKay city citizens learned more about the meaning of flags in a heartfelt video showing the purpose of the song, “The Star Spangled Banner.” Each city was separated into two political parties, Federalists and Nationalists. Today, depending on your party and county, the citizens had to go into separate ballrooms to vote on which four laws they were going to keep. In sports, dodge ball won 1st place, bowling took 3rd, frisbee took 4th, and finally, volleyball took 8th.
Wednesday Happening in McKay…
In the beginning of the day, McKay city was asked by their governor to make a cheesy song that would make him smile. The citizens decided to make a song that would flatter the governor, and used the music from the hit song, “Firework,” by Katy Perry to win the competition. After getting first place in the song/chant, they rushed to the breakfast table to enjoy being the first city to eat. After eating, they went to a debate meeting where they were asked very intriguing questions about real world topics. After the debate, they rushed to decide on what bills they thought would be best for their city. Once they picked their 4 favorite bills, they hustled to sports to show off their skills and exhaust the extra energy that they had. They then got ready for dinner, ate, and went back to their dorm city areas to finish out the day with their fellow citizens.
Tuesday Happening in McKay…
After learning about scholarships, McKay City citizens showed how much they love money by trying to take all the fake money in the room along with their newly appointed Mayer, Austin Curtis. After the scholarship meeting, the citizens finalized their bills to submit to the governor. Now we wait to see which bills will be passed. After finalizing their bills, McKay City destroys the competition with an 9-No run with a small team of 5 people in dodgeball. Showing that quality is always better than quantity and showing that maybe a smaller group in dodgeball may prove to be a better choice. McKay struggled slightly in ultimate frisbee, but showed the amazing attitude of good sportsmanship! Next to dodgeball the McKay City volleyball team crushes their opponents with a dominating score in the second and first round proving that McKay City is NUMBER ONE!
Monday Happening in McKay…
McKay City was active today, engaging in multiple elections and creating the top ranked flag! They elected Austin Curtis as mayor and Matthew Blood, Korbin Steadman, Matthew Mayer, Tayler Wallin, and Ethan Francom as city councilmen!
Sunday Happening in McKay…
McKay City is learning more about our flag and its meaning to the veterans. This lesson will surely come in handy throughout the week as they continue to become more informed Americans.
