Thursday  Happening in Rasmuson…

Today was a great day in Rasmuson City! We were surprised after reporting to the flag for opening ceremonies that we would have another chant contest but with new and improved chants. However someone had forgotten to tell Rasmuson! On the spot we gave a slight adaptation of our original chant and still managed to place 4th for breakfast.

After a hearty meal we met in the ballroom for recognition of flag day. We then split into committees and voted on students bills to see who would make it to the next level of government. After lunch and the filming of some b-roll the entirety of Boys State split into parties for our last caucus to decide state leader candidates.

Tuesday Happening in Rasmuson…

For Rasmuson, the day began as we assembled for the colors. We placed fourth in a chant competition to determine who ate breakfast first. When we got into caucuses, Jace resigned as the mayor to run for State senator. The council unanimously selected Aidan to become the new mayor. Our caucuses with Guimond went well for the Nationalists, who finalized a general election ballot quickly.

Monday Happening in Rasmuson…

City elections were in full swing today. Many of the candidates mentioned wanting to help bridge the divide between Federalists and Nationalists. The mayoral candidates focused on giving their city members a voice, leading to an elevation of the city as a whole. The candidates all demonstrated a willingness to step up to their roles in the election, hopefully inspiring their fellow peers to follow suit in later elections.

Sunday Happening in Rasmuson…

The Boys are quickly getting to know one another through introductions and side conversations. Once the icebreakers stop, I’m certain the campaigning for Mayor will begin with these eager delegates. Multiple boys let me know about their interest in becoming the next Governor, so I’m interested in watching the elections this week pan out.
