Happy Thursday Stromness! Today we have finally begun reaching our end of the week here at Utah Boys State. Obviously, our remaining work has now become more demanding, but we all know that we’re capable of achieving it (because we’re the STRONGEST!!!). First and foremost: congratulations to Lincoln, Jerek, PJ, and Dallin for achieving nominations in State Government; and also congratulations to Michael and Jackson for getting nominated to campaign as a Boys Nation Senator. In addition to this day, we have also begun to compete in our selections of sports (go and do your best, everyone!) We will later see if we have won in any competition. Last but not least, never give up in your struggle towards success because you all have a future filled with great opportunities! Go Stromness! Make every effort count!
Wednesday Happening in Stromness…
We’re now halfway into our week at Utah Boys State and it has been a very tumultuous and exciting week here in Stromness City. On Wednesday morning, our candidates for county and state positions have been heavily preparing for the County General Elections. As it turns out, yesterday’s campaigning has greatly paid off as several of our candidates at Stromness City have been elected (congratulations to all winners!). Furthermore, we have begun the process of writing and choosing ideas for potential bills. In the end we chose to select 4 bills for advancement in future committees. Keep up the good work Stromness! Remember to finish/support the bills and also to keep our city united and strong!
Tuesday Happening in Stromness…
Hey everyone! Tuesday has come and gone, and we Boys Staters in Stromness City have had an absolute blast today! This morning for breakfast, we had a city chant competition to see who went first. Unfortunately, we were voted second to worst, but we will get first eventually. We feel it within us! We had a County Convention with Bigbie City. In the meeting, we nominated Jacoby (Stromness), Eloy (Stromness), Aidan (Stromness), & Tucker (Stromness) as County Commissioners. We nominated Myka (Bigbie) as County Assessor, Timothy (Stromness) as County Attorney, Adin (Bigbie) as County Sheriff, and Preston (Stromness) as County Auditor. We elected Mark (Bigbie) as County Recorder, Cody (Bigbie) as County Clerk, & Dallin (Stromness) as Captain. Lastly, we nominated Peter (Bigbie) & Dallin as State Senators and Adin, Tucker, Asher (Bigbie), and Conner (Stromness) as State Representatives.
