Clayton Wright – Governor

I came to Boys State excited to learn more about politics and leadership, but also unsure of how I’d fit in. That uncertainty didn’t last long. Within hours, I jumped into elections, shared ideas, and slowly gained confidence, eventually deciding to run for Governor. Campaigning taught me how to speak with people, how to listen, and how to lead under pressure. But it also challenged me in ways I hadn’t expected. I realized that it’s easy to get caught up in winning-and in trying to be who others want you to be. That moment of discomfort taught me more than any speech or debate. I saw that real leadership means knowing your values and standing by them, even when it’s hard.Boys State helped me grow not just as a leader, but as a person. It pushed me to be more outgoing, more reflective, and more intentional about the kind of impact I want to make.

In the end, the title of Governor was just one part of what made Boys State unforgettable. I left with stronger communication skills, meaningful friendships, and a much deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.

Cooper Stauffer – Lt. Governor

I chose to attend Boys State because I wanted to challenge myself, grow as a leader, and gain a deeper understanding of our political system. I saw it as a rare opportunity to surround myself with driven individuals and to push beyond my comfort zone. It exceeded everything I expected. Boys State wasn’t just about learning how government works-it was about building brotherhood, discovering personal strength, and finding purpose. I didn’t just gain knowledge; I gained clarity on who I want to be. Boys State gave me a platform to grow intellectually and emotionally. Every moment taught me how to be a better communicator, a more thoughtful citizen, and a stronger man. The connections I made will last a lifetime.

Cash McFadden – Senator

I have always loved to figure out how things worked, including people and groups. Boys State was a phenomenonal expirence in working with and leading people. I had the opportunity to serve in several leadership capacities and offices that allowed me to get to know several wonderful people through the process. One of those capacities was that of Boys Nation Senator. I had a truly amazing expirence in DC and met even more people that have truly affected my life. Both Boys State and Boys Nation shifted my view of the world for the better. It showed me the goodness in the world and endless opportunities we have as Americans. It showed me the validity and power of our political systems and documents. It lead me to meet some of my closest friends and put me ahead of my peers, but it also taught me how to help my peers along to accomplish similarly remarkable things. To the Boys State Class of 2025, I’m thrilled to meet you. Run for every position you can, fully immerse yourself in this expirence, have fun, and make as many friends as you can. Boys State will change your life if you let it.
